Description Assimilation techniques for wavelets based representation. This task addresses the problem of data assimilation of images sequences for dynamic systems defined on wavelet basis. We aim at studying techniques for the assimilation of wavelet coefficients from images. The assimilation will rely either directly on image data or on pseudo-observations supplied by external image estimators. In the latter case we aim at using wavelet coefficients for segmenting image data or velocity fields and then performing assimilation from the wavelet coefficients. In the former case, the assimilation will be performed directly from an image reconstruction error criterion. The purpose will be to propose a wavelet based coherent simulation driven through image data and to apply such a model to the representation of geophysical flows.
